In November 2008, the Video Lottery Facility Location Commission was established (Chapter 4, Acts of 2007 Special Session). The Commission is to conduct a competitive bidding process to award up to five licenses to operate a video lottery facility in Maryland. With certain stipulations, one license may be awarded for each of five locations: Allegany, Anne Arundel, Cecil, and Worcester counties, and Baltimore City.
Authorization for the Commission extends to January 1, 2015.
